Carrie is a former high school teacher and high school/middle school counselor. She recently earned her LPC-A to broaden her reach and work with adults of all ages.
Her previous work in a school setting has given Carrie great insight on the vast stressors and emotions experienced by adolescents and young adults. Through compassionate counseling, Carrie enjoys helping others discover their own strengths and abilities. She strives to see people of all ages break through fears and anxieties and discover their true potential in a safe and judgment-free environment. She is grateful for the empathy raising three children has given her and has experience with the application process for both high school and college and emotional issues that often accompany them. She loves to walk clients through difficult transitions and help them successfully navigate their way through them and find joy on the other side!
Carrie has experience working with issues such as anxiety, isolation, fear, trauma, bullying, divorce, grief, life transitions, self-esteem and more. Carrie has also facilitated groups concerning the topics of grief, career choices, and acclimating to new environments. She has an undergraduate degree in English from Texas A&M University College Station. She has a master’s of science in counseling from Texas A&M University Commerce. She recently completed graduate coursework at the University of St. Thomas to earn her LPC-A. Carrie is a National Certified Counselor and is receiving associate supervision from Ayesha Lakhani, LPC-S.
